PmWiki /
MemberAs a member of the Greifswald Bioinformatics Group you may want to create new wiki pages. Hence, you have to get used to the wiki structure first. The wiki requires every page to be a member of a group like PmWiki, Forum or Augustus. For informations about creating a new page click here. Now you can do the following:
Controll access to pagesPer default only members of the bioinformatics team can read and edit the new page. At some point you certainly want the page to be public so everyone can read the tutorial or descriptions you have written. To do that, you have to set new passwords. To change the passwords add ?action=attr
to the page's URL (address) to access its attributes. Using the form on the attributes page, you can set the "read" or "edit" password on the page. For example, if you want to give everyone the possibility to read the page fill in the "read" form with @nopass .
Perhaps you want the new page to be readable only from a few members of the team while the page is not published. Therefore contact your admin to create a new group of accounts, i.e. the "augustusTutorial" group. Next, fill in the "read" form with @augustusTutorial
and only the member of augustusTutorial group can read the new page. Controll access to groupsYou can do the same with a whole group of pages. Therefore get to the attributes page for GroupAttributes by entering a URL (address) like http://bioinf.uni-greifswald.de/bioinf/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=GroupName.GroupAttributes?action=attr
Replace GroupName with the name of the group, i.e. augustus. Then, using the form on the attributes page, you can set the read or edit passwords for the entire group as stated above. The ForumAn author can include on her profiles page personal information. For that, create an entry in the forum. After submitting there should appeare a link named "profile". Follow the link an create your own profile so the forum visitors can realize you are a member of the bioinformatics team. Finally protect your profiles page by setting new passwords. Add ?action=attr
to your profiles page's URL (address) to access its attributes and fill in the "edit", "attr" and "upload" forms with id:yourUsername .
Now, everybody can read your profiles page but not edit nor change your passwords. For more information use the Documentation Index. This page may have a more recent version on pmwiki.org: PmWiki:Member, and a talk page: PmWiki:Member-Talk. |
